Job vacancy Description:
The successful candidate will report to the Health, Safety and Loss Prevention (HSLP) Manager and will carry out requirements of the Integrated and HSLP Management Systems for the Ahafo operations.
Essential Duties:
Essential Duties:
- Administer Newmont programs to prevent accidents/incidents and loss at Ahafo
- Work with other site departments to reduce the incidence of accidents at Ahafo
- Manage the weekly, monthly and yearly HSLP internal and external reporting processes
- Educate department managers on hazard identification, risk management, safety rules and regulations, trends and statistics and legal compliance
- Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment activities
Required Skills or Experience
- A Master's degree/degree/Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention
- Must have a minimum of 5 years' working experience in health and safety field in an extractive industry. Two years or more of management experience is desirable
- Thorough understand of Safety Management Systems including OHSAS 18001
- Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes
- Accident/incident investigation experience with auditing qualifications
