Job Description
A window is open to let in the services of an individual capable of steering and directing regulatory affairs for the successful operation of the company.


Job Purpose:
  1. Lead the development and management of the Company's regulatory frameworks, direction and strategy. Provide the strategic lead and direction for advice and support regarding to regulatory matters (in consultation with Legal manager / officer where dispute resolution and litigation occurs)
  2. Drive internal compliance to telecommunications regulatory obligations by line management and staff. Facilitate continuous and effective internal regulatory communication
  3. Secure and defend license entitlements
  4. Maintain good relationships with external stakeholders including Telecoms Regulator, Communications Ministry and other regulatory bodies relevant to the operation of the company.
Responsibilities:
Main Duties External:
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with the external regulatory stakeholders, such as the National Communications Authority, the Ministry of Communications and the Parliamentary Select Committee of Communications, to ensure an effective regulatory environment for the Company's business
  • Develop proactive and positive interactions with regulator and external stakeholders
  • Drive representation at industry events and industry associations
  • Maintain good relationship with other operators in the industry (with the use of industry associations)
  • Ensure appropriate company representation in regulatory related meetings and discussions with all relevant bodies
  • Observe and interpret changes in regulatory environment , identify areas of risk for the Company in relation to regulatory issues and advises on possible solutions to manage risks
  • Facilitate communication with external stakeholders on regulatory matters including timely response to regulatory queries/demands, orders and other claims
Required Skills or Experience
  • 2-5 years work experience
  • Degree in Law/Regulatory/Government Relations
