Job Description
Ghana Civil Aviation Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the under-mentioned vacancy in the Economic Regulations Department of the Authority.
Under the supervision of the Director-General and the Board, the incumbent will ensure that all the various functions/tasks are performed as indicated below.

The incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Set performance standards for the constituent units of the department (regulation, consumer protection and business development/statistics)
- Provide expert policy and economic advise and analysis within GCAA on airports, airlines and air traffic services
- Coordinates the preparation/issuing of regulations with respect to service/facilities provision at the airports by aviation service providers
- Develops/implements frameworks for assessing service sustainability of airlines/aviation services providers
- Participates in the design/coordination/implementation/monitoring framework for bilateral, multilateral, commercial air service agreements
- Submits aviation economic/consumer statistics as required by ICAO
Required Skills or Experience
The PersonThe applicant must have:
- At least a Masters Degree in economics (preferably specialization in regulatory economics and applied macro-economics) or a Masters Degree in Aviation Management
- A certificate/diploma/degree in business administration will be an added advantage
- At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in economics regulation in the aviation industry/application of micro-economic tools in a regulatory environment similar to that of the aviation industry
The applicants must have:
- An in depth knowledge of the aviation industry and inter-play between various stakeholders and must also be computer literate
- Managerial skills, Strong analytical and negotiation skills, effective oral & written communication skills etc
- Diverse nature of work requiring multi-skilling
