Job Description
The Ghana Cocoa Board invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the undermentioned position: Director, General Services, Head Office.
Purpose:
To initiate and develop appropriate policies and procedures on properties, transport and communication services for the approval of the Board of Directors.
- Formulates policies and procedures for Works Contract and Maintenance of the Board's bungalows, offices, warehouses, shed, etc
- Advises Management on the acquisition of property and engagement of consultants for the Board's projects
- Ensures that drawings/tender documents prepared by consultants and Technical/Estate Officers for Board's project are reviewed
- Co-ordinates the activities of the transport section to ensure that adequate transport facilities or service to all staff of the Board especially those on trekking duties are provided
- Ensures that COCOBOD's vehicles and communication equipment are efficiently managed
- Ensures the smooth and regular provision of services such as transport and communication facilities to all functional areas of the Board
- Prepares and submit periodic reports on the activities of the department to the Deputy Chief Executive (F&A)
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned to him by his superior officers
Required Skills or Experience

- Have skills in the negotiation of contracts and the preparation of reports
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good time management skills
- Have ability to make effective decisions and follow up
- Able to direct, motivate, co-ordinate and control activities of others
- Should have a solid technical background
- Should have current knowledge in building methods
- Should be computer literate with a good knowledge in current software applications
- A First Degree in Engineering, Land Economy, Architecture Building Technology
- A Masters Degree in Engineering, Land Economy, Architecture, Building Technology, or Project Management
- Plus Diploma/Certificate in Management from a recognized institution
- A member of Ghana Institute of Engineers/Surveyors/Architects
- At least twelve (12) years relevant post-qualification working experience in the areas of managing properties, transport, mechanical workshop and communication services and 9 (nine) years of which should have been in the managerial grade
