Recruiting Company Profile
On behalf of the German Government, KfW Entwicklungsbank supports the Government of Ghana in the implementation of its reform programmes, particularly in the Agriculture, Decentralization, Financial and
Governance sectors through various modalities including Budget Support.
Job Position Description:
For a newly established position in the KfW Office Accra, we currently seek to employ an experienced Local Programme Officer to assist the Office Director in supporting the governance portfolio with its diverse donor co-ordination activities.

Key Responsibilities (under the guidance of the Country Director and the KfW HQ):
  • Budget support: developing technical contributions, active participation in the technical Dialogue and in donor discussions including the support of PFM efforts with a focus on audit issues
  • Project Management  of the governance portfolio including budget support and decentralisation
  • Supporting the KfW Accra and Frankfurt Governance Team in preparing and implementing the FC projects and providing consultation in all questions concerning governance
  • Taking on additional tasks in the interest of the KfW Bankengruppe in Accra
We are small team and are looking for a proactive, well organised person prepared to work under pressure. The position should ideally be filled by January 2012.
Required Skills or Experience
The successful candidate shall meet the following profile:
  • A university degree in a relevant subject and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven excellent communication and report writing skills in English
  • Experience in resolving macro-economic, fiscal and fiscal policy including audit questions, willingness and ability to quickly acquire specific FC technical know-how
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, easy contact, conduct her or himself diplomatically and with empathy
  • German language skills will present a major competitive advantage
All tasks are to be executed in close co-ordination with Ghanaian Partners and the International donor onsite. The position entails much interpersonal exchange and an ability to deal with people from all works of life and nationalities will be essential.
