Job Description:
The successful candidate will report to the Mine Manager and will establish the Mine Maintenance Department , assumes overall responsibility for budgeting, managing the heavy and light vehicle equipment fleet.
Essential Duties:
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate all maintenance activities with other departments. Create a suitable work environment to motivate staff, employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness, productivity and operating costs
- Assist in the design, construction and management of the truck shop, fueling, wash bay, welding, tire shop and other maintenance facilities
- Responsible for performing capital evaluation of projects and producing management reports
Required Skills or Experience
- A degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering with 10 years' experience or equivalent management position or 15 years' combination of relevant education and experience as a maintenance superintendent
- Experience with facility design, equipment, development and management of MARC agreements
- Knowledge of computer management tools such as Mine Star, Modular Dispatch, VIMS and Ellipse is recommended
- Strong presentation, facilitation, consultation, interpersonal and negotiation and conflict resolution skills
