Job PositionDescription:
Reporting to the Community Affairs Manager at the Esaase project site.

The incumbent's responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting in developing the Company's Stakeholder Engagement Plan
  • Managing all formal and informal consultation with stakeholder communities, and ensuring all consultation is accurately documented in the Company's Ananse information management system;
  • Building and maintaining cooperative and constructive relationships with traditional authorities, local and regional government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders;
  • Ensuring that all stakeholder complaints and grievances are handled in a respectful manner and in accordance with the Company's standard operating procedures; and
  • Developing methods and technologies for achieving improved communications between the Company and its stakeholders
Required Skills or Experience
Submissions are being sought from applicants who meet the following minimum criteria:
  • Degree in the Humanities or Social Science or any other related discipline with at least 7 years working experience in a community relations role in the mining industry;
  • Excellent understanding of community functioning and structures, and knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques related to community relations;
  • Knowledge of governmental structures, systems, processes, and procedures;
  • Fluent in the local dialect and able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be computer literate; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
