JOHN HOPKINS LATEST JOB VACANCIES IN GHANA: RECRUITMENT FOR GRANTS ASSISTANTS (VACANCIES IN GHANA 2011)

Job Description
The Johns Hopkins University/Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP) is recruiting for Grants positions for an upcoming project initiative to start in the month of September 2011. The positions are Grants Assistants to be located in Tamale, Takoradi, Kumasi, Cape Coast and Accra.

Grants Overview:
The Grants Assistants positions deal with funds management, co-ordination and monitoring a grants portfolio to local NGOs to support community mobilization activities, enhancing and strengthening the capacity of the LNGOs in response to priority health and social needs in both rural and urban communities. These positions require extensive travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Work and manage sub-grants to LNGOs by awards and effectively administer the sub-grants to support community mobilization activities
  • Administer awards, review reimbursements for appropriateness and ensure that LNGOs are in compliance with USAID policies and procedures
  • Monitor individual budget line expenditures, assuring that each grantee remains within allowable and contracted levels, or requests authorization to exceed them
  • Facilitate in grants management training for grantees
  • Lead the timely design, planning and implementation of grant close-outs and close-out reporting as per USAID and JHU/CCP policies, regulation and standard practices
  • Report to and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Required Skills or Experience
  • Grants Assistants should hold a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study with a minimum of 2 years professional working experience
Additional Qualification:
  • Possess working knowledge of USAID funds management such as OMB Circulars (A-122, A-133), regulations and guidelines (22CFR226, AD303)
  • Have advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal, good communication/writing skills
