ANGLO GOLD LATEST JOB VACANCIES IN GHANA: RECRUITMENT FOR Zonal M & E Co-ordinator (VACANCIES IN GHANA 2011)

Job Position Description
  • Ensure environmental monitoring of Indoor Residual Spraying activities in targeted districts to determine compliance with GFATM and Government of Ghana Environmental Assessments, Ghana regulations, best practices and relevant international treaties
  • Conduct on the spot inspections of spray operator activities of the IRS programme in the targeted districts
  • Ensure proper spraying techniques are observed on the field of operations
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Assessment requirements, Government of Ghana regulations, and established best practices
  • Oversee environmental assessments and compliance throughout the IRS sites
  • Facilitate training and re-fresher training of spraying operators
  • Liaise with District IEC Assistant to ensure synchronized approach between IEC and IRS activities
  • Work closely with the District Operations Manager to identify any need for technical assistance from National Headquarters
  • Develop and submit weekly and monthly reports
  • Supervise and Monitor the activities of the Team leaders and Supervisors of District IRS operations
  • Knowledge in data interpretation is a plus
  • Reviewing project work plan, developing M&E plan and building M&E capacity of team leaders and supervisors
  • Perform other duties as assigned by DOM and Zonal Manager
Required Skills or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or an environmental field with at least 3 years work experience;
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in pesticides management, handling and disposal, industrial hygiene, or related field;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise work, assemble and co-ordinate materials, and serve as a team player, in a fast-paced environment;
  • Willingness to stay and travel with the District assigned
  • Additional professional training in malariology or parasitology will be an added advantage
  • Strong organisational, reporting and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak one or more of Ghanaian northern languages will be an advantage
  • Previous work on IRS activities will be in asset
  • Knowledge in the use of GIS, SPSS, EPI-INFO and/or STATA would be an added advantage
  • Should have completed National Service
