Job Description
CHF International, Ghana seeks the services of a creative, energetic, persevering and self-motivated person, with advance knowledge in Geographic Information System (GIS) to support the Waste Management Department (WMD) of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to deploy GIS technologies in its operations.

Duties
The successful applicant will be expected to:
  • Use relevant GIS tools to collect data and map out operational areas and locations of Solid Waste Management facilities in the AMA.
  • Identify multiple and innovative ways of using GIS technologies to enhance monitoring activities of the department.
  • Research/Develop relevant tools/software applications to optimize integration of GIS technologies in the operations of the department.
  • Ability to use Handheld GPS for data collection
  • Perform spatial analysis
  • Experience in database management and representation.
  • Mentor the monitoring team and staff of the sub-metros to effectively optimize usage of database monitoring applications to monitor service delivery of private waste firms.
Required Skills or Experience
The successful applicant should be prepared to think out of the box and deliver results immediately. Although hands on experience is the key requirement, an applicant with the under listed qualification and competence is preferred.
  • Bsc or HND in GIS, Geomatic Engineering, Environmental Science or Geography
  • Relevant knowledge in GIS applications for solid waste management and conversant with the usage of ArcView software.
  • Applicants living in or around Kaneshie, Dansoman and Bubuashie are preferred.
  • The applicant should be prepared to accept a basic monthly subsistence as allowance.
